Dear scientists,
In the evening of 4th October 2024, six scientists from Luxembourg will participate in the Luxembourg Science Slam series. They will bring their science on stage and tell the public more about their (field of) research. But don’t expect a boring lecture.
Science Slam is a format, which combines the communication of current research with enjoyable entertainment: In 10 minutes stage time the participants present a piece of their work to a public audience in a theatre hall. It can be a presentation, a solo theatre play, a poem, a song, etc. – whatever suits you and your message best!
If you’re interested in joining the event as a Slammer, just send us a mail to scienceslam@uni.lu until 27th June 2024 briefly describing your background, your affiliation and the topic you have in mind. We will make a selection among all applicants, aiming to bring a balanced program of all fields of life-, mind- and social sciences on stage.
Still not sure?
We will offer you a free workshop on 12th July 2024 to prepare for the event as the format might be somewhat different from your usual talks. Selected slammers will also receive individual coaching sessions with an experienced slammer to receive feedback and prepare for their Science Slam.
From experience we can tell you that this will be a very unique and rewarding experience – and you will increase the visibility of yourself, your research and science in general all at the same time!

The event is supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), the University of Luxembourg as well as the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH). It is organized by the student organization LuxDoc asbl in collaboration with DESCOM, a science communication project at the University of Luxembourg.
